In the heart of the Ardennes, our passion for exceptional sport horses has been passed down from generation to generation.
Over 50 years of passion
The Sûre stud farm was founded in the early 1970s, when a young amateur rider bought his first mare at the age of 13. Having spent her entire career competing in horse shows, she passed on her passion and love of horses to him.
Four years later, Jean-Pol Hartman, advised by a friend who was passionate about horses, traveled to Normandy with his father and bought a 3-year-old mare, Joie de Sartilly, who was bred to Elf III and gave birth to a filly, Radieuse de Sartilly.
It was from this moment on that Jean-Pol Hartman's breeding program really took off. Radieuse de Sartilly competed internationally with rider Philippe Lejeune and, in the early 1990s, won the Grand Derby de la Chevalerie with Babette Vanderelst.
During this period, Jean-Pol regularly attended breeding competitions in France and had his mares covered at French stud farms.
Thanks to a selection of the best mares and the combination of stallions such as Quickfire, son of the famous Grand Prix stallion Toulon, the products of the Sûre stud farm meet today's requirements: horses with spirit, reliability, beautiful gaits, and high quality.
Objective: to bring his young horses as far as possible according to each one's potential, while respecting the animal.
You will find details of some of his horses for sale in the various sections.
Quickfire de Ferann is a show jumping stallion sired by the renowned Toulon, himself a descendant of Heartbreaker. He is recognized in breeding programs for passing on essential qualities to his offspring, such as power, carefulness over the jump, and good balance. His descendants compete at various levels, with some reaching the highest international level.
Quickfire de Ferann is thus considered an improving stallion, appreciated for producing modern and high-performing show jumping horses.
